Candle Care Tips
Useful Tips for Candle Care
Candles are not only atmospheric decorations but also wonderful fragrance dispensers. To ensure you enjoy your candles for a long time and maintain their beauty and functionality, we have compiled some valuable care tips here:
1. Trim the wick regularly
To prevent sooting and uneven burning, trim your candle's wick to about 5-7 mm before each lighting. A long wick can lead to a high flame and soot.
2. Do not burn candles for too long
Do not let your candle burn for longer than 4 hours at a time. After this period, the flame should be extinguished and the candle allowed to cool to extend its lifespan and ensure safety.
3. Observe the first burn time
When lighting for the first time, you should let the candle burn until the top layer of wax has fully melted. This prevents tunneling and ensures the candle burns evenly.
4. Protect candles from drafts
Avoid placing your candles in areas with strong drafts. Air currents can cause the flame to flicker, leading to uneven burning and increased sooting.
5. Always place candles on a heat-resistant surface
Ensure your candles are always placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface. This protects your furniture from heat and wax spills.
6. Extinguish candles safely
Use a candle snuffer or dip the wick into the liquid wax and then straighten it. This prevents smoke and keeps the wick in good condition.
7. Maintain distance between burning candles
Always leave at least 10 cm between burning candles to prevent them from overheating each other or affecting the wax flow.
8. Keep candles away from children and pets
Place candles out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidents.
9. Remove wax residue
Regularly remove wax residue from the candle jar to ensure a clean flame. Wax residue can clog the wick and impair burning quality.
10. Use candles of appropriate size
Always use the correct candle size for your candle holders. Candles that are too large or too small can tip over or not burn properly.
