THE FIRST BURN – AND WHY YOU SHOULDN'T SCREW IT UP 🔥

You finally treated yourself to a new candle and want to light it right away?
Understandable. Take a picture, tag us – we love to see where our babies end up 😏🖤

But before you just light it:
The first lighting is EVERYTHING. Really everything.

Why?
Because it decides whether your candle has a long, fulfilling life… or a sad, messed-up existence. Dramatic? Yes. True? Also yes.

WAX HAS A MEMORY (YES, WTF)

If you only let your candle burn for about 20 minutes the first time and then extinguish it, this happens:
It remembers exactly this small mini-melt pool.

And guess what?
It will ALWAYS only burn like that.

Congratulations – you just ruined your own candle 😌

👉 Therefore:
Let it burn for at least 2–3 hours the first time
or until the entire surface is liquid – right up to the edge.

TUNNELING = THE DEATH OF YOUR CANDLE 💀

This small, sad wax circle is also called tunneling.

And it is:
ugly, annoying and kills your candle's lifespan
faster than a toxic ex kills your mood

Can it be fixed? Yes.
Should you just avoid it? ALSO YES.

AND NO – IT'S NOT ALWAYS YOUR FAULT (BUT MOSTLY 😏)

If your candle tunnels, it can also be because the wick is too small.
Happens more often with cheap products.

Write to the shop where you bought it.

(but honestly: we test our candles hardcore, so… rather unlikely)

PLEASE DON'T LIGHT CHAOS 🔥

Candles + draft = bad combination

If the flame is constantly pushed to the side:
→ your candle burns unevenly
→ looks like crap
→ doesn't work properly

And by the way:
Draft can move things towards the flame = fire hazard

IN SHORT (FOR THE IMPATIENT):

🔥 First time: let it burn until everything is liquid
🔥 Do not leave unattended (yes, we have to say that)
🔥 Away from anything that can burn
🔥 No draft
🔥 And please: trim the wick before each lighting (you can find out why that's so important here 😏)
